Jillian Diehl is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of New York. She earned her Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from CUNY Queens College and Bachelor of Science from Fordham University. 
As a psychotherapist, she has experience providing individual, group, and family therapy, and parent coaching across the continuum of care of behavioral health services, including inpatient hospitalization at New York-Presbyterian, the partial hospitalization program at Mount Sinai, and community outpatient settings, including Brooklyn Psychotherapy and the Child & Family Institute. She brings expertise in issues of crisis intervention and recovery, severe emotion dysregulation, and complex psychiatric conditions in both short-term and long-term counseling settings.

At BPS, Jillian works with adults, adolescents, and children between 7-13 years old; she also provides parent coaching. Jillian has practiced DBT and CBT supporting individuals with depression, anxiety, bipolar, PTSD, ADHD, personality disorders, and complex trauma, among other issues. She strives to deliver compassionate, culturally responsive care through an anti-oppressive lens. With a passion for increasing equitable access to mental healthcare, she has worked with clients and families with diverse multicultural backgrounds. She enjoys working with LGBTQIA, BIPOC, neurodivergent, and other individuals with historically minoritized identities. Jillian believes it is a privilege to be an empathic witness to each client and strives to serve as an active partner in developing goals to create meaningful change in their lives.

Jillian’s personal journey includes becoming a therapist as a second career. She has previous professional experience in executive recruiting, research, and leadership assessment. In addition to ongoing training in DBT and TF-CBT, she has participated in training on suicide risk assessment and crisis prevention & intervention. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and enjoys providing consultation and mentoring to fellow clinicians and students.

Born and raised in the Hudson Valley, Jillian moved to the big city for college and has lived in New York City ever since. When not at work, she can be found enjoying the NYC restaurant scene, learning a new hobby, relaxing at the park (or beach!), discussing pop culture, and spending quality time with family and friends.
