Dr. Negar Bastanfard (She/Her)
Psy.D. Postdoctoral Fellow
Dr. Negar Bastanfard is a postdoctoral fellow who brings a culturally informed, trauma-focused lens to her work with adults and older adolescents. She holds a B.S. in Psychology from the University of California, San Diego, and earned both her M.A. and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from Alliant International University’s APA-accredited program. Her dissertation explored The Relationship Between Eating Disorders and Personality Disorders in the Iranian-American Population, reflecting her deep commitment to culturally responsive care.
Dr. Bastanfard has extensive experience across a wide range of clinical settings, including inpatient hospitals, residential treatment centers, outpatient clinics, and private practice. She has received specialized training in Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT) and has provided trauma-informed care to diverse populations, including active-duty military personnel. She is particularly passionate about Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and has developed comprehensive DBT programs in both inpatient and outpatient environments.
Bilingual in English and Farsi, Dr. Bastanfard values the integration of culture and identity in the therapeutic process. Her clinical approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practices. Outside of the therapy room, she enjoys hiking, yoga, and exploring new places.
