Erica Sava Park (LCSW) is a senior staff therapist at BPS. She received her master’s degree from Columbia University School of Social Work, where she completed the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) training program and lab under André Ivanoff. She is currently practicing as a DBT therapist with expertise in implementing DBT for children and teenagers. Erica enjoys practicing DBT because it’s skills-focused, evidence-based, and allows therapists to be their genuine selves while helping people reach their ‘life worth living” goals.
Erica also enjoys working with parents and uses Parent Management Training (PMT) to enhance children’s treatment outcomes. Erica has also studied Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions (SPACE) and Non-Violent Resistance (NVR) treatment programs to further support parents of children with anxiety disorders or risky behaviors.
Additionally, Erica is skilled at implementing Exposure and Response Prevention Therapy (ERP) to treat Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and phobias. She has been trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy Prolonged Exposure Protocol (DBT-PE), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) to reduce symptoms of trauma in both children and adults. Erica is passionate about helping people confront their fears and work through traumatic experiences in order to fully participate in their lives. She has also received training in Radically Open DBT to address symptoms of over-control and CBT for chronic insomnia.
When Erica is not working, she enjoys dancing, cooking family recipes, and going on walks with her dog, Wally.
