Lauren Siegel (She/Her)
Therapist | LMSW
Licensed in NY, NJ, and OH.
Lauren Siegel, LMSW, is an intensively trained DBT and CBT clinician. She graduated from Columbia University with a master’s degree in clinical social work with a specialty in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) under the supervision of Dr. André Ivanoff, President of Behavioral Tech, after completing a bachelor’s degree in psychology at the University of Michigan.
In addition to her intensive DBT training, Lauren has additional training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Parent Management Training (PMT), suicide risk assessment, and motivational interviewing. She has experience working in intensive outpatient (IOP) and outpatient settings. Lauren holds licenses in New York, New Jersey, and Ohio.
Lauren provides comprehensive DBT and CBT to adults, parents, adolescents, and couples, as well as group skills training. She specializes in working with parents and couples and believes that relationships are one of the principal influences on our quality of life and well-being. Lauren is passionate about helping clients interrupt dissatisfying patterns in their romantic and family relationships, and work towards increasing relationship satisfaction and a sense of personal capability.
Lauren believes in creating a non-judgmental environment for clients to increase their curiosity towards their own emotions and behaviors, their origins, and how they serve or detract from long-term goals. She works to help clients identify patterns in order to reduce cycles of suffering and foster long-term growth. She believes that a warm, positive, and validating therapeutic relationship is essential to creating safety and progress throughout the treatment journey.
In her free time, Lauren can be found crafting elaborate travel itineraries, attempting (with mixed success) a new recipe from the NYT Cooking app, or walking her golden retriever, Nala, in Central Park.
