Sarah Palasick, LMSW, received her Master’s Degree in Social Work at Columbia University and her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While in her master’s program, Sarah participated in the Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) Intensive Training Program, organized by Drs. Marsha Linehan and André Ivanoff and completed her DBT Intensive Training through Behavioral Tech, LLC. In addition to intensive DBT training, she has completed trainings in Motivational Interviewing, Prolonged Exposure, Exposure and Response Prevention for OCD, and CBT-E for eating disorders.
As an undergraduate, Sarah volunteered as a research assistant in labs studying eating disorders and non-suicidal self-injury. She also wrote an honors thesis examining the negative effects of Instagram fitness trends on the body image of undergraduate women. Before attending Columbia’s School of Social Work, Sarah was a project coordinator for the WELL Center at Drexel University, assisting in research projects which tested the efficacy of novel treatments for eating disorders. Upon graduating from CSSW, Sarah practiced comprehensive DBT and other evidence-based treatments at Brooklyn Heights Behavioral Associates in Brooklyn, NY.
Sarah enjoys seeing musicals, trying to find good southern food in the city, and traveling.
