Olivia Mussafer (she/her), B.S., Intern
Olivia is currently pursuing a master’s in Mental Health Counseling and Wellness at New York University. She is entering her final year in the master’s program and is excited to work with BPS to complete her field placement. Olivia received her Bachelor’s Degree from Duke University with a Major in Psychology, a Minor in Education, and a certificate in Innovation and Entrepreneurship.
Prior to pursuing her degree in Mental Health Counseling, Olivia was an early childhood educator in New York City. During her time as a teacher, she received a Master’s in Early Childhood Education from Relay Graduate School of Education. Olivia’s experience teaching during the Covid-19 pandemic strengthened her passion in fostering social-emotional skills for young learners and eventually led to her pivot into the mental health counseling field.
Olivia spent the past year volunteering with Samaritans, a suicide prevention helpline, providing support for individuals over the phone and via a chatline. Olivia also volunteers with Sandy Hook Promise, an organization on a mission to prevent violence in schools, where she helps lead engagement events and creates educator guides on social-emotional skills for students.
Outside of work and graduate school, Olivia enjoys long walks and runs outside in New York City as well as picnics in the park with her friends. Olivia also loves spending time with her family in her hometown, Boston, specifically when the fall foliage is in full effect!
